The journey from Interlaken to the Harder Kulm, Interlaken’s local mountain, takes ten minutes by cable car. The restaurant looks like a small castle, and it is located 1,322 metres above sea level. The Harder Kulm is a starting point for mountain hikes. It also offers a beautiful view of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains as well as Lake Thun and Lake Brienz.

So why not visit the location where the classic Bond On Her Majesty’s Secret Service was shot? From Stechelberg take the cable car up to the Schilthorn adventure: in summer an exciting hiking region; in winter the highest skiing region anywhere in the Bernese Oberland.
The vintage funicular runs to the top of the Heimwehfluh using technology dating from the year of its founding in 1906. The short trip up to the hilltop is worth it alone for the views of Interlaken and Lake Thun. Children will certainly enjoy the fun and games of the adventure playground. Other attractions include the all-weather toboggan run and the model railway exhibition. The valley station is only a few minutes’ walk from Interlaken West railway station.
